Ulta Beauty’s Leadership Evolves: Dave Kimbell Retires, Kecia Steelman Takes the Helm

Ulta Beauty, the nation’s largest specialty beauty retailer, today announced that Dave Kimbell will retire as Chief Executive Officer after 11 years with the company. He will also step down from the company’s Board of Directors. Kecia Steelman, currently President and Chief Operating Officer, will succeed Dave as President and Chief Executive Officer and join the Board effective January 6, 2025. Dave will continue to serve as an advisor to the company through June 28, 2025.

During his tenure at Ulta Beauty, Dave has been a steadfast champion of associates, guests, and the brand’s unique culture. Since becoming CEO in 2021, the company grew to over $11 billion in annual revenue and delivered double-digit growth in diluted earnings per share.
