The much-anticipated announcement of who will be the new driving force behind Joico’s professional cutting and styling vision has finally been announced! The brand welcomed Jeremy Davies-Barbala as Joico’s new International Creative Director on June 2.

Jeremy has a background from the school of Sassoon, which he joined in 2002. He later became Creative Director for both UK and US staff training programs before coming stateside to be at the forefront of creative direction for Sassoon academies and salons. Apart from London, Jeremy has developed a strong client base in Los Angeles, and has created looks for icons like fashion designer Mary Quant and cult actress Rose McGowan, among others.

“After our first meeting with Jeremy, we knew he was right for Joico,” says Joico Sr. Director of Global New Product Strategy and Education, Angelia Polsinelli. “He possesses a rare blend of hair and design mastery with an inherent love of the ‘team’ mentality.”

Jeremy says he loves Joico’s history in creating innovative products and wants to help Joico continue to be the innovator they have been for so many years. “I also want to have the best education that is consistent and speaks to all levels of hairdressers…I want Joico to be an inspiration and leader in all three areas: product innovation, education and client-building.”

The coveted role has evolved from one that not only develops and teaches the techniques behind creative elements in Joico education but also encompasses the creative vision of the brand.

“Joico is a company that is committed to the salon industry, and Jeremy’s love of hairdressing, as well as his well-earned professional expertise and passion for inspiring, uniquely qualifies him as the right creative director to lead Joico’s global creative vision,” says Angelia.
