With an ever-expanding global reach, Goldwell has appointed Jay Mahmood as their Global Artistic Ambassador for Haircutting. Jay has taken to his new post immediately and will be assisting Goldwell in creating new haircutting collections as well as continuing to build Goldwell’s reputation as a global beacon of education.

“The thing I love most about my job is having the opportunity to travel around the world teaching and inspiring others in the craft of haircutting,” says Jay. “I’m thrilled at the opportunity to be working with Goldwell and helping them to develop new education and artistry in haircutting.”

Jay began his career as a 16-year-old apprentice at the Sassoon Academy in London. The determined teenager quickly rose through the ranks, becoming one of the youngest Academy leaders ever—eventually rising to the leadership position at London’s highly esteemed Allilion Academy. As a stage artist, the high-energy, highly passionate hairdresser would travel from hair show to hair show with his latest haircutting techniques in tow—wowing audiences on the global stage.

With Jay as a part of their team, Goldwell is confident they can develop their outreach to stylists all around the world. “Having Jay join our team is a team is huge step forward in expanding our creative offering beyond hair color. We are incredibly excited to build our global creative team,” says John Moroney, VP & Global Creative Director for Kao Salon Division. “Most importantly, it is about our promise to provide stylists with inspiring and dynamic education to expand their skills.”

Jay will be based out of the Goldwell KMS California Academy London
