Farouk Shami Returns to Farouk Systems as CEO

Farouk Shami announced today his return as Chairman and CEO of Farouk Systems, Inc. after a short retirement.

According to an official statement from Farouk Systems, the founder of the company realized his passion for the beauty industry, to which he has devoted 50 years of his life, and his fellow hairdressers were “more important to him than anything else.” With this change, he says, Farouk will return to what he loves best—working hard to create a safer and healthier workplace for both stylists and consumers.

Farouk has been a longtime activist in the industry, bringing forth changes and developing new lines that not only improve the integrity of the hair but are also good for the environment. His return promises to uphold these standards.

Joining him will be his son Rami Shami, who has returned to run the day-to-day operations, a role he has held for more than 30 years. He will also be joined by his Executive Team, which consists of: Andre Chiavelli, Executive Vice President Global Sales, Marketing, Education and Public Relations; Stuart Feldshon, Senior Vice President of North America; Scott Emery, Vice President of International; and Lisa Marie Garcia, Vice President of Product Development and Innovation.

“I am proud to say that I run the business with the best team of professionals, which got us to where we are today,” Farouk says. “Together, we are determined to succeed and lead by offering our great professionals the most innovative environmental products, services, education, shows, marketing and advertisement to increase all revenues. Our facilities in Houston are now about 2 million square feet and growing. We couldn’t be more excited to see what is next.”
