Davines Launches New Sustainably Sourced Produce Initiative

Davines is launching a new agricultural initiative, Beauty, From the Ground Up, to raise awareness and funds for Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) in all 50 states. Going live on February 28, which is National CSA Day, this program will help bridge the gap between local farmers and consumers.

CSAs are a way to buy local food directly from a farmer. You purchase a “share” and become a farm “member” and the farm delivers a box of farm-fresh goods regularly throughout the season.

“This conversation affects everyone, whether currently purchasing directly from local farms or wondering how to get involved. It’s about social and environmental beauty, from the ground up; creating connections among various communities who care about making conscious choices, whether it be the beauty products they use or the food they eat,” says Jorge Blanco, Creative Director, Davines North America

By working with Hudson Valley CSA Coalition (East Coast), FairShare (Midwest) and CAFF/Community Alliance with Family Farmers (California), Davines’ goal is to collapse the distance between agriculture and communities and shine a light on the beautiful work these organizations, and the over 200 farms they collectively support, are doing.

“Local farmers are central to everything FairShare CSA Coalition does as an organization. After all, farmers grow our communities. It is our responsibility to empower communities to advocate for family farms, but we can’t do it alone. That’s why it’s so crucial to build strong partnerships with like-minded companies like Davines that are committed to farmers and sustainable business. By supporting small family farmers, Davines courageously aligns itself with the promise of a beautiful future,” says Carrie Sedlak, Executive Director, FairShare CSA Coalition.
