Leadership Changes Announced At Davines Group

Davines Group announced the start of its next chapter, welcoming Anthony Molet as its new global CEO, as announced last November by the Group’s Chair, Davide Bollati. Anthony succeeds Paolo Braguzzi, who led the company through its growth and transformation over the past 17 years and will continue to maintain his position as a Board member.

French by birth and education, Molet’s career developed mostly in the US, where he was previously Davines North America CEO for 13 years. “It is with honor and pride that I pick up the baton passed by Paolo Braguzzi. He paved a path for the company with a perfect balance between values, quality products and financial health, and I am looking forward to continuing this journey,” said Molet. “What I find so compelling about Davines Group, a B Corp since 2016 and a pioneer in corporate ethics and sustainability, is that it has the power to impact people, just like it did to me.”

The evolution the company went through in the past years, thanks to Braguzzi’s leadership and the commitment of all the teams, plus the growing development in the international markets and the consequent challenges that comes from it, require today the set-up of an even stronger organization. This is the reason, following Mark Giannandrea’s arrival in October 2019 at the head of the Hair Care Division in the role of Global General Manager, on June 1 the Group will welcome Arnaud Goullin in the role of Global General Manager Skin Care Division.

Goullin brings to the Group his extensive global experience in key roles at LVMH, Shiseido, and Estée Lauder groups in Europe, Asia, and the Americas, specifically focusing on brand development in these markets. From the launch of Narciso Rodriguez in Italy to the rebuilding of M.A.C in China and Brazil, his successes exemplify his rich understanding of multicultural integration and the beauty industry.

“I am passionate with brands and with the possibility of creating a true value-driven community which goes even beyond the products,” said Goullin. [comfort zone] and /skin regimen/ can do this with such authenticity, which deserves to be discovered by many more consumers around the world. It is an honor for me to be part of this adventure!”

“Arnaud’s deep knowledge of the beauty industry and his quite unique global experience is what [ comfort zone ] needs to get to the next level: evolving towards the development of international markets to conquer new consumers, always leveraging on the professional heritage of the brand,” said Bollati. “I am very excited to complete our leadership team with him, and I wish him and Anthony all the best for this new chapter together.”

202 Results

Following 10 years with 11,9% compound annual growth rate, the Davines Group can claim good results also for 2020, despite the hard hit the professional beauty sector suffered from the COVID-19 pandemic: in a market which lost on average 20%, the Group closed the year with a 153 million euros turnover (- 6.2% on the previous year, with a decrease in product sales only limited to 3,2%) and a net profit of 14.7 million euros (+12% on 2019), with an EBITDA at 19.4% of the revenues.

2020 also brought excellent results in terms of strategic positioning on the key markets: today the Group makes over 78% of its revenues outside of Italy, with North America representing the first market with 35% of the total turnover. 2021 started off with a strong acceleration, closing the first 4 months with a great sales performance (over 60 million euros, 33% increase vs year to date 2020 and a 13% increase on the same comparable period of 2019).

The next phase of the company is vital to its global development. Always striving to meet the highest standards of social and environmental impact through people, planet and community, this new management team will continue to focus on balancing evolution and growth, while prioritizing the Group’s core values ethics, beauty, and sustainability.
