The Hairstyling Community Mourns the Loss of Jesus Guerrero
Another top industry hairstylist’s life has been taken too soon. BTC has learned that celebrity hairstylist Jesus Guerrero (@jesushair) passed away on February 22. Jesus was born and raised in Houston, Texas and later moved to Los Angeles, California to continue pursuing his hair career. He wasn’t just a hairstylist—he was a visionary whose artistry graced some of the most renowned faces in the world. Jesus was Kylie Jenner’s close friend and constant in her glam squad. He also styled celebrities like JLo, Katy Perry, Rosalía, Dua Lipa, Kim and Khloe Kardashian and many other A-listers.
Beyond the glamour, Jesus had an unparalleled gift for making every client feel empowered and beautiful. His passion, creativity and warmth left an indelible mark on the beauty industry and all who had the privilege of knowing him. BTC’s Founder and CEO, Mary Rector (@marybehindthechair), had this to say: “Some people leave behind a legacy of success. Others leave behind a legacy of love. The truly great ones leave both. Jesus was a truly great one.”
Jesus was represented by The Wall Group who shared this statement: “Jesus was a beloved artist, friend and a special soul whose kindness and craft profoundly touched the lives of many. We are heartbroken and devastated by this tragic loss. His time with us was cut too short, but his lasting impact on the industry is immense and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.”
Various content creators have shared unconfirmed speculations across social media that Jesus died of pneumonia in a Los Angeles area hospital after traveling home from a work trip with JLo in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. BTC will keep this space updated as new information becomes available.

“Jesus was more than my friend—he was a light in my life, a source of laughter, comfort, love and unwavering support. I don’t know how I would have made it through the last almost decade without him by my side. He had a way of making even the heaviest days feel lighter. Thank you, Jesus, for always being there for me, for lifting me up, for being my friend. The pain of losing you is just unbearable and I don’t know how to move forward without you but I know great grief is born only of great love and I loved you so much. You were the best person, with a talent that was unmatched, a true artist. You inspired so many and you always will. Your words, your laughter, your kindness, your beautiful spirit will live in my heart forever. I’ll cherish all our moments together—every laugh and hug. I wish I could hug you again. I laid in your bed the way you used to lay in mine, talking for hours. I would give anything for one more deep talk. I’m going to miss you so much, more than any words can say. 222 my angel.” — Kylie Jenner (@kyliejenner)
- “Our glam fam means the world to us. We work together, vacation and celebrate our lives together! Our great respect for the art of hair and makeup has led us to meeting some of the kindest souls and made some of our bestest friends. So when one of our glam family members passes away all of our souls are crushed. My heart breaks for Kylie and everyone who loved Jesus the way we all did. I’m praying for his family, his loved ones and the whole beauty community who feels this deep loss of one of the most talented and kindest to ever do it!” — Kim K (@kimkardashian) on her Instagram stories
- “Jesus’ career journey was a joy to witness. He had the ability to make the whole room feel the warmth of his presence and giggle at his playful antics—all while casually creating hair ART. It’s not surprising to see so so many souls sharing stories of their love for him and his work. From the minute we met I immediately wanted to be a mentor and protect him. I believed in him so much. I loved this kid. I knew what his future would be. I told Mike I wanted our son one day to be HUMBLE and KIND and talented like Jesus. He was such a special human. My biggest regret as a mentor is not checking in with him more often. I just can’t make sense of him being gone…” — Celebrity Hairstylist & Founder of OUAI, Jen Atkin (@jenatkinhair) in an Instagram post
- “2•22, one of Gods most Beautiful Angels has just opened his wings and flew to join him in heaven and watch over me. Last night I experienced the most painful, breathtaking pain I have ever felt when I found out you left us @jesushair Family is not always just assigned at birth, sometimes they are chosen and you were my chosen family. I told you this many times before, don’t know how I could have done the past 10 years of this whole journey without you, to which you would always reply saying ‘I wouldn’t want to do this with anyone else’ and now that you’re gone l’m unsure how I will continue the same without you. You were my anchor, my rock in every room we made magic in together. We’re in sync on a level that only you and I will ever comprehend. You were a safe haven for me that gave me the push to be the best version of myself in every room we were in together! More than a friend you were my brother…” — Celebrity Makeup Artist Ariel Tejada (@makeupbyariel) in an Instagram post
- “I lost my best friend. Jesus is the most amazing person I’ve met. We’ve been best friends since 8th grade and have been inseparable. We pushed each other to move to LA and he suggested and dyed my hair blue. We motivated each other to thrive and succeed. Two gay Latino boys from Houston from immigrant parents, we were each other’s halves. He’s a son, a brother, an uncle, a friend and so much more. We were told that in a past life we were brothers and in this life it felt the same. I’m not really sure what happens next…I lost a part of me…I know you’re in heaven and I know I’II see you again. I love you Jesus.” — Makeup Influencer Gabriel Zamora (@gabrielzamora)
- “I don’t even know where to begin. Looking through these memories, I find myself crying tears of joy, overwhelmed by the incredible moments we shared. We weren’t just close friends or a glam duo, we were FAMILY. You were someone I could count on, unconditionally, no matter what. Jesus, being in your presence always made me feel grounded, safe and truly in the moment. You lived so freely, so fully and that’s something I learned from you-something I will carry with me forever. Thank you. You weren’t just talented, iconic, or the BEST hairstylist in the industry. You were so much more. You were kind, gentle, true, caring and nurturing with a heart of gold. You embraced life, even in its hardest moments, and you created a safe space for everyone lucky enough to be in your orbit. Your energy was magnetic—you lit up every room, and your fire, your fierce way of doing things, will always inspire me!…” — Celebrity Makeup Artist Etienne Ortega (@etienneortega)
Jesus’ death closely follows that of celebrity hairstylist and educator, Graham Nation (@grahamnation), who passed away on February 14. BTC and top industry professionals shared their condolences here.
