Andis Announces New Book & Online Education For Textured Hair
Fluid Volume Two Is Andis’s Newest Barbering Education For Textured Hair
Andis has debuted a new book and online education aimed at barbering textured hair, FLUID Volume Two: Embracing Heritage & The Natural Beauty of Multi-Cultural Textured Hair, from Andis Creative Leads and International Educators Eric Cheek (@eclipsllc) and Kenny Duncan (@kduncangrooming).
FLUID Volume Two is an Andis Hair Tech Publication that includes step-by-step guides on how to achieve five different grooming looks for men and women with tools, suggested techniques and tips for perfecting the cut. For barbers and stylists who may be less experienced with textured hair, the book also contains a hair pattern terminology guide that outlines the different hair types by size and pattern, along with other terms commonly used when cutting and styling hair.
For more visual learners, each look will be demonstrated individually live with an Andis Global Educator. Barbers and stylists will receive detailed sessions with smaller class sizes, allowing for valuable one-on-one instruction and tailored feedback. Additionally, courses are designed to be hands-on, with mannequins recommended to attendees before each session to follow along in the step-by-step class.

Each look created for Fluid Volume Two has a historical and cultural story behind it. “The 1921 Fade represents Tulsa, Okla., Black Wallstreet,” says Eric on an Andis Instagram Live. “An incident took place and long story short, it was burned to the ground… We wanted to highlight the heritage and the professionalism that Black people that look like me had in Tulsa, OK in 1921.”
“The first haircut that a chose to do was a haircut called The Classic Philly,” remarked Kenny from the same live. “The Classic Philly was the haircut that I used to actually become a part of the Andis company. It was the haircut that I did back in 2005…that I did then and still do today to earn decent money and it was inspired by faith influencing fashion in Philadelphia.”
“FLUID Volume Two is a collection of five looks designed to celebrate the heritage and natural beauty of multi-cultural textured hair,” said Angie Perino, Managing Director for FLUID and Global Education Manager for Andis Company. “Kenny and Eric are world renowned for their talent and skills as educators within the beauty and barber industry.
