Director of Sales
The leading independently-owned distributor of professional beauty products is looking for a dynamic sales professional to lead our Chicagoland-based distributorship. We are an outside sales based organization that believes in partnering with our customers with a real business relationship through in person sales support , education customized to their needs. We represent some of the top well established hair care brands as well as new specialty brands which are sure to become market leaders in the future . We cover Illinois , Indiana , Ohio with direct sales in person support . We also cover Wisconsin , Minnesota and Michigan with inside sales support .
The person for this position must be an exceptional sales person with experience in outside sales and the capability to lead an outside sales team . Must have outside professional beauty sales and management experience and be proficient at selling professional hair color.

The duties will include :
1- An emphasis on being in the field building business by expanding existing business within current customers and opening new business with in the three major covered states.
2- Working with Distributor Sales Consultants (DSCs) directing ,managing and training them
while in the field . You must be proficient at managing sales goals, promotional sales , pipelines / new door targets , and organization of educational support to strategically open new business and build / support existing business.
3-In addition, it’s paramount that you have the ability to motivate, mentor and inspire a sales team.
4 – Working with personnel at salons to properly coordinate inventory of chemical services( hair color and straightening products) , retail products and back bar products.
5- Helping to support the VP of operations and Customer Service Manager in staying on top of Accounts Receivables.
6-Works hand-in-hand with manufacturer representatives to plan and strategize on how to grow market share.
7-Responsible for planning, coordinating and leading internal company sales meetings .
Must have extensive beauty business experience Intimate knowledge of hair color theory Minimum of three years of management experience Must have great leadership and motivational skills A passion to sell Highly creative with ability to think out of box Advanced communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work well with others Ability to mentor/coach others An entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work out solutions and sales strategy is also a must . Ability to analyze salon needs and fit with a proper solution Must be adept at Microsoft Word and Power Point in order to create sales presentations and salon proposals. Comfortable working Microsoft Excel in order to better analyze sales numbers, metrics and spreadsheets Must be adept on the use of all social media outlets and how to use them to promote business Must be a licensed driver with a reliable vehicle Willing to travel to all parts of our contractual territory ( Illinois, Ohio & Indiana) Excellent command of the English language and bilingual in Spanish a plus but not mandatory
