Spa Manager


Upscale day spa & salon located in Haile Village in Gainesville, FL seeking a Spa Manager who is outgoing, self-motivated, results-oriented and looking for a long-term opportunity. This position will oversee day-to-day operations, marketing, staff development, recruiting, budgeting/forecasting, guest relations, and strategic planning. Ideal candidate should have experience working in a spa environment in a managerial type of role, and the ability to also perform services is preferred.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Inform staff of job responsibilities, performance expectations, client service standards, and corporate policies and guidelines
  • Plan or direct spa services and programs
  • Train staff in the use or sale of products, programs, or activities
  • Assess employee performance and provide individual plans for progression
  • Meet with employees individually on a quarterly basis (minimum) to review their performance and provide feedback
  • Check spa equipment on a regular basis to ensure that it functions properly and is safe for both staff and guests
  • Coordinate facility schedules to maximize usage of space and efficiency
  • Develop service and retail goals, and guide staff in goal achievement
  • Establish budgets and financial goals
  • Maintain inventory of all supplies and products, and place orders as needed
  • Monitor operations to ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, or hygiene standards
  • Oversee cash drawer, as well as the preparation and delivery of bank deposits
  • Recruit, interview, hire and train employees
  • Respond to customer inquiries or complaints
  • Prepare staff schedules
  • Verify staff credentials and licensure, such as educational and certification requirements
  • Aid in the development and implementation of marketing strategies
  • Coordinate facility maintenance or repair
  • Maintain client databases
  • Participate in & coordinate continuing education classes to maintain current knowledge of industry and products
  • Sell products, services, or memberships
  • Maintain all required County and State licensure, and facilitate all necessary inspection
  • Provide daily/weekly updates to upper management, through a combination of written reports, financial reports, and verbal delivery
  • Participate in monthly and quarterly meetings with upper management to review financial performance and establish future goals
  • Create plans and oversee event management as needed (this includes seasonal planning and activities)
  • Participate in all relevant required trainings, web conferences and in-person events as needed
  • Assist the Payroll department with the preparation of data necessary for ensuring timely and accurate employee compensation
  • Ensure that both the interior and exterior of the facility are in good, working order and report deficiencies promptly to the Property Manager


  • Base salary + quarterly bonuses (final offer will be determined based on experience and skill level)

OTHER SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS: • Some college or Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Spa & Salon Management (preferred) • Additional industry-specific training and certifications • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal • Exceptional interpersonal and guest service skills • Excellent computer and software skills, including MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, email, and spa/salon booking software • Ability to work some weekends & some evenings • Honesty, loyalty, high-performing, problem solving, leadership, professionalism, punctuality, creativity, ability to motivate others, open mindedness, decision making, coaching & mentoring, teamwork, goal proficiency, trustworthiness, and ability to self-assess

Compensation: 45K -65K
