The TEACHER is responsible for providing and sustaining a MOTIVATING and effective learning environment for every student through well- prepared classes, relevant assignments, fair and holistic assessment of learning, clear documentation and feedback on student progress, and support of academic success for all students. The Instructor will maintain professional competence through engagement in documented professional development activities, to enhance and provide effective value in the classroom, department and campus-wide events/activities.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have previous education and salon/spa experience. He or she must have a passion for educating, motivating, mentoring, and coaching. This position requires experience in positive and effective communication, soft skills, professional development skills, and teamwork.

Skills/Competencies Required

Must have Illinois Cosmetology or Esthetics teaching license
Experience in TEACHING Esthetics or Cosmetology
Current Esthetics, Cosmetology or Barbering license in Illinois, but focused and experienced in Esthetics is a must:
Excellent organization, coaching, and communication skills
Skills in supervision, teamwork, documentation
Solid work history with verifiable references
Creativity and Passion for the beauty industry
Honesty and professionalism
Proactive to help develop new programs

Summary of Job Description

1. Promotes and Maintains a Positive Learning Environment

2. Fulfills Administrative Responsibilities (including the creation of CE courses)

3. Focuses on Curriculum and Instruction

4. Professional Development

5. Manages the Classroom/Lab

6. Delivers Instructional Material and Facilitates classroom activities in a manner that is consistent with the course syllabus and outline.

7. Utilizes active learning techniques to maintain a challenging learning environment for students; utilizes a variety of media/audio-visual/technology materials to achieve course goals and objectives, and to engage students representing variety of student learning styles.

8. Conducts Laboratory/Clinic/Practicum Activities

9. Helps with Events, Presentations, community building and guest speakers.

10. Conducts Lab/Clinic/Practicum Activities and may help students find internships and jobs.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $17.00 – $24.00 per hour

Oak Lawn, IL 60453: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
