Clipper-cut the hair, working with a large blade from the center back to each ear.

On the top of the head, comb the hair through and dampen with a sculpting foam. Then, find the highest point of the head and separate the hair from the center front to the crown.

    3

Create a front guide at the hairline and connect it to the clipper guide at the temples. Then, take a vertical section from the crown to the front hairline, cutting short to long and leaving length in the front.

Working from top to bottom, take pivoting sections from the center guideline following the round of the head and cut the hair straight out (this helps round any corners). Check the highest point for balance.

Next, blend the clipper area into the top layers, then center out to each side using a 1½-inch clipper blade.

Start with the blade one measure shorter than the last, and decrease blade length as you move lower on the head. Stop when the desired length and a seamless, soft look is achieved.
