Textured Comb-Over + Undercut

If he likes the look and feel of an undercut but doesn’t want to lose his length up top, this is the cut you give him. The classic undercut makes the style look super polished while the textured comb-over gives him some edge and versatility thanks to a blend of layering and texturizing techniques. HOW-TO STEPS

    Create a horseshoe section up top, working with the client’s desired part.

    Then, clipper the sides and back to the desired length and clipper up to the top section, creating disconnection. Check to ensure the cut is balanced.

    Comb and dampen the hair, then apply product for control and section the top in two.

    Cut the perimeter of the disconnected top by directing the hair straight out at a 90 degree angle around the head and clean up the ends for a strong shape.

    Establish the guideline on top of the head by taking a vertical section from the crown to the front hairline and cutting short to long, leaving more length in front. Cut horizontally across the top of the head following the guide.

    Use a feather razor to create short pieces within the top layer, then use directional texturizing to support the comb-over style.

    Fade using the longest to shortest blade, then detail the neck and the area around the ears. Then, use an edger near the temples for a polished look. Style as desired.
