  Section the hair into 4 quadrants to minimize application time, give maximum control and uniform results. Using the Platinum Card Application, start with the back quadrants, working up from the bottom to the top in each section. Create 1/8-ince slices inside each foil, and apply Formula A about 1/4-inch away from the scalp, all the way through the ends. “I mix fresh bowls throughout the process so I don’t lose the energy of the product and can maintain consistency,” notes Stacy.

  • Formula A:

    Dual Purpose Lightener + 30-volume developer + Olaplex

  • Formula B:

    Lighten Up + 20-volume developer

  • Formula C:

    The Color UTP + 10-volume developer

  After processing the midlength and ends to a golden yellow tone, apply Formula B to the root area. When applying to the scalp, be sure to angle the brush flat to prevent scalp irritation. Allow to process to very pale yellow.

  Rinse the hair thoroughly with medium water pressure and towel-dry. Next, apply Paul Mitchell’s Super Strengthener In Process Treatment. Comb the product throughout the hair from scalp to ends and cover with a processing cap, then place under the hood dryer for 15 minutes. Rinse well and then power-dry.

  Section off the top area of the hair in a horseshoe shape, the sides and then the back from the crown to the nape of the neck. Using Formula C, begin applying the color in the back, starting at the bottom and working your way to the top. Proceed to the sides and the top section. Allow to process 20-35 minutes.

  Rinse thoroughly and shampoo using PM Rare Marula Shampoo to give the client instant hydration and softness. Finish with the Rare Marula Conditioner to help smooth and repair the hair surface for a shiny, flawless finish.
