How-To: Lived in Desert Braid

close formula

Inspired by what she refers to as “lightness,” Mara Hoffman’s spring/summer 2015 collection marks the designer’s evolution into a more refined look. During New York Fashion Week, Mara once again teamed up with CATWALK® by TIGI® Global Creative Director Nick Irwin to develop an effortless look that speaks perfectly to the effortless, bohemian girl. They call this the “lived-in, desert braid”—which perfectly captures the spirit of the easy, breezy vibe of the Californian desert.

HOW-TO STEPS

  • 1

Mist clean, dry hair with CATWALK® by TIGI® Transforming Dry Shampoo to create matte texture.

  • 2

Separate hair into three sections and gather the back section into a low, loose ponytail. Secure with an elastic.

  • 3

Braid each section using a 3-strand technique and secure ends with an elastic. Gently pull each braid to loosen, allowing front pieces to fall to frame the face.

  • 4

Starting on the right side, wrap the side braid around the center braid and secure with an elastic. Repeat on left side.

  • 5

Gently loosen the finished braid and finish with CATWALK® by TIGI® Session Series Work It Hairspray.
