HOW-TO STEPS

  • 1

Prelighten the hair by applying Formula A between foils, ensuring the hair is very saturated. Do not apply Formula A to the root area. Process until your client reaches a Level 7/8.

  • 2

At the bowl, apply Formula B to the roots to create a root shadow. Then, tone out any brass using Formula C. “Keep her at an all-over, nice beige blonde until her next session, so you can lift her locks even more,” advises April.

Rinse, cut, blow-dry and style as desired.

  • 4

During the second appointment, prelighten again using Formula A and place in between foils. Make sure the hair is very saturated, and avoid applying Formula A to the roots. Process until she lifts to a pale yellow.

  • 5

At the bowl on towel-dried hair, start by applying Formula B to the roots to create the root shadow. Tone out any brass using Formula C. Then, apply Formula D to the ends only.

  • 6

Rinse, cut, blow-dry and style the hair. April used a 1¼-inch Hot Tools® curling iron and curled vertically at the root, leaving the ends out. She added Aveda Shampure Dry Shampoo for texture, Aveda Dry Remedy Daily Moisturizing Oil on the ends for gloss and finished with Aveda Air Control™ Hair Spray.
