How-To: Dimensional Balayage

This hair is painted for the gods! We are obsessed with this gorgeous dimensional balayage from Jennifer Diaz @jenni4president from the new Poughkeepsie, N.Y. salon The Great Studio. Her client wanted to achieve a Level 8 or 9 with a balayage melt. Jenni made sure to let the client know that it might take a while (up to four sessions), but they would get there! In the end, it took three sessions, each lasting between three and four hours. Not a quick process, but totally worth it. Here’s how she did it!

Pricing: Jenni charges $200 for full balayage (Olaplex included). Additional bowls are $20, toner/glaze is $25, and if needed, additional base color is $40. She charged $45 for the haircut. The average price for this look? $300-450 per session.

To style, apply Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream to damp hair. Blow-dry the hair, then use a 1-inch curling iron and a strong hairspray. Finish by brushing through the curls.
