Um…wow. This soft, blended sombré from stylist Kim Bruce (@themisfitblonde), co-owner of Monroe on Mane in Sturbridge, Mass., is kinda leaving us speechless. Kim’s client is clearly loving the look, too—she’s been coming back to Kim for her blonding expertise for more than 16 years! “This color has been a two-year transformation,” shares Kim. “It was our fourth session painting her, and I see her every six to nine months. The first three sessions were sombrés, but when she came in this past November, we were liking how it was growing out and decided to keep it more of an ombré. I just wanted to bring up her blonde higher around her face and brighten her ends.” Here’s how she did it.

    Apply Formula A and process for about 45 minutes (the last 15 minutes under a heat lamp).

    Shampoo using PRAVANA The Perfect Blonde Shampoo, leaving it on for about five minutes at the sink. Then condition with Aquage Silkening Conditioner.

    Kim then gave her client a trim and a blowout using the Bio Ionic Tools 10x Ultralight Speed Hair Dryer and Olivia Garden’s Round Brush. She finished by giving her client loose waves with the BaBylissPro Nano Titanium 1” Curling Iron.
