Section the top of the head, parting from the corner of the eye to the crown. Take the first slice just beneath the parting on one side. Place a foil beneath the slice and apply Formula A from the new growth to the ends. Place another foil over the top to cover the slice.
Note: For this technique, use foils that are long enough for the entire length of the hair. Do not bend hair in the foils or fold foils horizontally.
Working up into the top section, take two more slices, and using long foil barriers beneath each slice apply Formula A from the new growth through the ends. Cover with foil. Then move onto the other side of the head, continuing the same sectioning and technique as in the previous side.
Create a center parting. Then, moving back over to the other side of the head, take a parting from the front of the center parting to the back of the top slice, creating a triangle section. Slice off the top of the triangle section, place a long foil the length of the hair beneath the slice and apply Formula A from the new growth to the ends. Place another foil over the top to cover, making sure not to bend the hair in the foil. Follow with two more slices beneath this slice and into the triangle section.

Check the foils for the progression of the lightening. Pass The Blonde Wand over the top of the foils to accelerate the lightening action in smooth, slow and even passes, until desired lightness is achieved.
Resection the hair to isolate the previously lightened strands. In the first slice that was created in the lightening process, apply Formula C from the new growth through the ends. In the next slice up, apply Formula D. In the third slice up, apply Formula C.
Continue working up into the triangle section. In the first, bottom slice, apply Formula C. In the next slice up, apply Formula D, and in the last slice of the triangle section, apply Formula C.

Moving into the other side of the head, apply alternating Formula C, Formula D and Formula C to the three previously lightened slices.
Apply Formula B to the remaining hair. Process 30 minutes at room temperature. Rinse with cool water, shampoo, condition and protect with VIVIDS Color Protect.
