Golden Globes How-To: Miok Styles Lea Michele

For the 2010 Golden Globes, Glee actress Lea Michele left behind her on-screen signature geek chic and walked the red carpet with a look reminiscent of a vintage Hollywood screen siren. With the help of NYC based stylist Miok of Judy Casey Inc., Lea’s low, textured updo had us all singing a high note. 1. Start by blowing out the hair using René Furterer Volumea Volumizing Conditioning Spray, to build a foundation that lifts the hair at the roots.

    2. Use a curling iron with a medium sized barrel, curl the whole head in sections. Once the curls have cooled, run your fingers through it.

    3. Tease hair at the nape and pin back, leaving about two inches in the center loose.

    4. Lightly tease the crown, smooth and softly roll under above loose hair at nape.

    5. Next, split nape hair in half, take the left side and back comb lightly and wrap around the existing loose roll, pinning underneath.

    6. Take hair from the right, and in the opposite direction, wrap the same existing roll and pin underneath.

    7. Spread out wrapped hair and use the pins to place as desired, lightly sweeping the front hair to the side.
