Clairol Rich, Red Tone for Dark Hair How-To

Creating a rich, red tone on naturally dark hair color can be challenging unless you have the right color formula and technique. The Red Bloom technical from Clairol Professional is exactly what you’ve been looking for; it allows you to create contrasting panels of red to give a sense of depth, warmth and dimension.

HOW-TO STEPS

    Model Shown: Natural Level 4

    Step 1
    Formula 1:
    2 oz. liquicolor permanente 3RR/203RR + 2 oz. 10-volume developer
    Section half circles from the temples to behind the ears. Apply Formula 1.

    Step 2
    Take 2 additional semi-circular sections: one at the front of the head and one at the nape. Apply Formula 1 to each of these sections.

    Step 3
    Formula 2:
    2 oz. liquicolor permanente 4RR/204RR + 2 oz. 20-volume developer
    Apply Formula 2 to all remaining hair from scalp to ends.

    Step 4
    Process for 30 minutes. Rinse, shampoo and condition.
