Boxer Braid

Festival season is here, so get ready for your clients requesting braids for days! We have the steps to create your new go-to, festival-ready braid—the boxer braid. Updo artist Heather Chapman (@heatherchapmanhair) created this style and it’s the embodiment of cool.

HOW-TO STEPS

    Part the hair from the arch of the eyebrow, diagonally back to the middle of the nape. Clip away the smaller section and begin to create a Dutch braid on the other side.

    Pinch and pull the hair to make the braid look more relaxed, and then tie it off with an elastic hair tie.

    Carefully comb the other side of the hair over to the Dutch braid and create a ponytail.

    Take a small section of hair and wrap it around the hair tie. Secure with a hair pin.

    Braid the combined hair together and secure with an elastic.

    Pinch and pull the braided ponytail to give it added volume.

    Apply PRAVANA Nevo Super Shape Extreme Hairspray to smooth down any flyaways.
