  Start by taking a horizontal section from ear to ear and applying Great Lengths GL Tapes tape-in extensions to give the style added volume. Use the GL Computer, a transparent ruler made for extensions placement, to compute how many tape-in sections you will need.

  Apply the GL Tapes by placing a thin section of hair between two tape-in extensions with the adhesive strips pressed together. Secure the extensions with the GL Connection Tool. Use a dry-cutting technique to blend the extensions with the client’s natural hair.

  Once all of the extensions have been placed and secured, use the Hot Tools Professional Black Gold 1-Inch Flat Iron to loosely wave the hair for texture and dimension.

  Starting at the crown of the head, take a 2-inch section of hair, adjust the size of the section to accommodate hiding the GL Tapes and create a twist toward the middle of the head. Use your thumb and index finger to gently pinch and pull the twist loose but not apart.

  Take a second section of hair, directly next to the first twist and twist towards the middle of the head but cross over the first twist. Your twists’ direction should be toward one another, using your thumb and index finger to gently pinch and pull the second twist loose.

  Continue to create two more twisted layers on each side of the head, leaving out strands along the hairline for softness. Start to direct the hair low behind the client’s left ear to create an asymmetrical style.

  To give the style a different kind of texture, instead of a single-section twist, take two sections of hair and twist them together. Section size will vary to help conceal the tape-in placement. Spray hair with Kenra Professional Volume Spray 25 for hold.

  Take the tail of the gathered twists and create a loose three-strand braid and secure with a small elastic. Once the style has moved off of the client’s scalp, the three-strand braid will secure the rest of the twists.

  Take hair from the client’s heavier side and twist the section into the loose braid continuing to direct the style toward the client’s left ear until the style is balanced.

  Use large bobby pins to secure the hair in place behind the client’s left ear.

   

  Pro Tip: Weave the large bobby pins in a sewing motion for optimal hair hold!

  Gather the remaining tail of the twists and separate into two sections. Twist the sections together and secure the twist with a small elastic. Use hair pins to secure the twist under the style and secure into place.

  Use 1-inch flat iron to bend and wave the pieces of hair left out along the hairline. Secure entire hairstyle with Kenra Professional Volume Spray 25.
