Miss Universe’s Winning Look

Of course all of the women competing in this year’s Miss Universe Pageant were stunning, but the winner of it all took home the crown—literally.  Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach from the Philippines was crowned Miss Universe, so OF COURSE BTC had to get the how-to for her winning style. Her “CHI-gnon” was created by Farouk Systems Master Level Artist, Lauren Young. Inspired by Pia’s evening gown and excellent bone structure, Lauren wanted to make sure Pia’s hair highlighted everything about her winning moment.

HOW-TO STEPS

Prep the hair with CHI Dry Shampoo and Conditioner to freshen up your client’s hair before starting.

Then, Spray CHI Magnified Volume Extra Firm Hair Spray throughout to provide control and added volume, while brushing the hair into a sleek, low ponytail.

Take a small section from the ponytail and wrap it around the base of the band and secure it with bobby pins to cover the band. Then apply a filler piece shaped into a crescent and secure with pins.

Next, apply a small amount of CHI Pliable Polish to the ponytail. Take sections to sweep up and over the filler, securing with additional bobby pins.

To finish the style, spray the hair with Miss Universe Style Illuminate’s Spotlight Shine Spray for added shine and glisten.
