Start by prepping the hair with Alterna Haircare Bamboo Volume Weightless Whipped Mousse and evenly distribute for lift at the roots.

Then, starting at the nape area, take 1-inch sections and direct the hair back—the key step to creating this texture is to blow-dry the hair back and away from face. Roll each section and pin at the base.

Continue this and create a complete curl set. Take slightly thicker sections as you work toward the middle to create loose and lived-in texture. Then, allow to cool before releasing each section.

Then, take wide panels of hair and slightly bend each section with a flat iron using this technique—tap the iron lightly and in alternating directions, working from roots to ends. Continue this pattern and finish with the face-framing sections.

Apply Alterna Caviar Anti-Frizz Blowout Butter to create separation and defined ends.

Finish with Alterna Caviar Perfect Texture Finishing Spray for a piecey effect.
