Here’s how Color Pro John Simpson makes this bombshell hue happen.

HOW-TO STEPS

Section the hair into quadrants. Beginning in the nape, create a diagonal slice. Using a “dry brush technique” saturate one-half of the brush with Formula A and leave the other side dry.

Draw the flat brush along the section, flip the brush to the dry side, then back to the color-loaded side and pull through the ends. This creates a natural-looking, diffused effect.

Work through diagonal subsections up to the face frame in this manner, separating each section with plastic film. (If necessary, isolate each section in a compact foil for maximum lift.)

Process 30 minutes, rinse, shampoo and condition. Tone all strands with Formula B, then process for 10 minutes.
