Katie Holmes—actress, model…and now, director! Katie made her directorial debut last weekend at the Tribeca Film Festival with the film “All We Had.” So what does a first-time director wear on the red carpet of her premiere? Katie opted for a sleek Zac Posen for Brooks Brothers suit. To complement the outfit, stylist DJ Quintero for Alterna Haircare created a style that was soft, natural, modern and sophisticated. Here’s how he did it!

Prep damp hair by liberally applying the Alterna Haircare Caviar Volume Miracle Multiplying Mist from root to tip. Let sit for a few minutes.

Create a center part using hands or a small comb.

Rough-dry the hair using a blow dryer on high heat.

Create loose waves by wrapping sections of hair around a 1-½ inch flat iron.

Run the blow dryer quickly through the hair again to boost volume.
