In the regular world, Halloween means costume contests and Instagram-worthy makeovers. In the salon world, it means stylists are busy cranking out hair and makeup transformations to get their clients ready for all of the festivities. And because we know that Sandy from “Grease” is always a favorite, we gathered up a quick tutorial on how to recreate her famous curls.
Using the CURLBAR™ from Hot Tools®, curl the hair in 1- to 2-inch sections and in different directions to create a more voluminous and textured pattern.
After holding the curl for 7 seconds (the CURLBAR™ will vibrate so you’ll know when that is!), release the section and loosely pin the curl at the scalp to allow it to cool and gain ultimate bounce.
Once the entire head is curled, release the pins and gently brush through.
Tease and place the curls in the spot you want them to sit on the head (pull the hair back on one side for the classic Sandy look), then spray with a firm hold hair spray to keep the finished look in place.
