There’s a lot we envy about “Wonder Woman” actress Gal Gadot, one being her gorgeous brunette mane. Find out how her stylist Erick Orellana (@erickohair), a master colorist at Cristophe Salon in Beverly Hills, Calif., created this rich, dimensional color in the steps below.

“Keeping a dark, rich brunette is not just a matter of slapping dark dye on and calling it a day. I like to combine two different levels of color to add depth and richness,” shares Erick. “I also like using an ash gloss to give the color shine and tone to a more cooler hue. It also helps seal the all-over color I used to prevent fading.”

HOW-TO STEPS

1

Start by applying Formula A and let process until she reaches a Level 5.

2

Then, freehand balayage with Formula B. “In some cases for contrast, if the color is looking too one-dimensional, painting a few balayage pieces can be ideal to break it up a bit and give it that natural sun-kissed look,” shares Erick.

3

Gloss with Formula C to cool the babylights and add some extra shine. “Adding a few highlights helps to break up dark coloring and adds natural dimension to make it look less dense,” says Erick.
