Emily Blunt’s Textured Waves

close formula

To prepare for the Critic’s Choice Awards, actress Emily Blunt chose a glamorous red Emilio Pucci dress and enlisted celebrity stylist, Ashley Streicher for Rich Hair Care, to work her magic on her hair. The result? Simple, yet sultry beachy-looking waves. “It’s sexy, “cool girl” hair,” says Ashley. “Tousled, textured waves and volumized!” Ashley shares her ultra-cool wave how-to!

“Emily had just come home after getting fresh blonde balayaged highlights with Tracey Cunningham, arriving with wet, freshly washed hair,” notes Ashley. “It was actually great for the texture that I wanted to create for her.”

HOW-TO STEPS

1

Comb RICH Argan Volumizing Mousse through wet hair from roots to ends and blow-dry with a round brush for natural volume.

2

Then create a center part in her hair and add volume at the crown.

3

Next, take about 1½-inch square sections (starting at the nape of the neck) and spray each with RICH Sure Hold Hairspray before wrapping them around a 1-inch hot rod, leaving just the very ends out.

4

When releasing the hair from the barrel, pull it straight down to cool while slightly roughing it up with your fingers. Do this all the way up the head until the very top front.

5

On the top front, make an “S” wave with your flat iron.

6

Then warm a small amount of RICH Rejuvenating Argan Oil Elixir in your palms and pull it through all of her ends while shaking some of her wave out. This will separate the texture while keeping the ends healthy looking and shiny.

7

Then gently backcomb the crown and give her a nice little head rub to create some texture and break up the curl.

8

To complete, quickly run a flat iron over random curls, to make it a little less perfect, while keeping the volume.
