A vision in gold from head to toe, we think it’s safe to say that Miranda Priestly would be proud of actress Emily Blunt’s 2019 Met Gala look. Embodying this year’s “Camp: Notes on Fashion” theme with a custom-made gold sequin Michael Kors gown, Emily also rocked a textured ballerina bun and can’t-miss gold headdress courtesy of celeb stylist Laini Reeves (@laini_reeves). Keep scrolling to learn how to recreate this effortless red carpet style!

Style Notes: Wearing a gold sequin dress and gold headdress, Emily’s hairstyle was inspired by the wet hair look on the runway from Michael Kors and Laini’s own interpretation of Camp meaning, the ’70s, Studio 54, Lee Bowery meets Grace Jones with Cher vibes. Here she created an androgynous look.

HOW-TO STEPS

1

Starting with freshly washed hair, lightly blow-dry the hair using the Paul Mitchell Neuro® Halo Dryer.

2

Then, mix together Paul Mitchell FLEXIBLE STYLE Sculpting Foam™, Paul Mitchell INVISIBLEWEAR® Velvet Cream and Paul Mitchell FIRM STYLE Super Clean Sculpting Gel® and work it into damp hair. “I haven’t used gel in years,” Laini said. “It’s an oldie but a newbie!”

3

Next, using your fingers, pull the hair back into an undone, textured ballerina knot at the base of the neck.

4

As a final touch, Laini added a Stephen Jones headdress featuring gold sparkles that complimented the glow of Emily’s Michael Kors gown.
