Anne Hathaway’s good friend, celeb stylist and Virtue® Creative Director Adir Abergel (@hairbyadir) created this minimal-yet-adorned French twist for the 2018 Met Gala. Keep reading to see how he did, plus get a look at how he DIY-ed the quills in Anne’s hair!

Adir and Anne collaborated on the look to complement the night’s theme, “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.” “I was first inspired by Anne’s beautiful red Valentino dress,” Adir says. “The silhouette inspired me to pull from religious figures, futurism and angelic references. I wanted to create something that felt minimal yet modern.”

HOW-TO STEPS

1

Start with Virtue® Full Shampoo and Full Conditioner, which gently dissolve daily impurities while replenishing vital nutrients to leave hair healthy, soft and supple.

2

Use the WetBrush Original Detangler to gently brush through the hair and remove tangles.

3

Prep the hair with Virtue® Uplifted Volumizing Whip from roots to ends.

4

Rough-dry the hair completely with the Bio Ionic 10X Dryer and create barrel curls with a ¾-inch curling iron.

5

Once cooled, brush the curls and apply Virtue® Lifting Powder all over the roots to create texture for a tease-free updo.

6

Pull the hair back into a voluminous French twist and secure with hairpins and Virtue® Finale Shaping Spray to lock the look in place.

7

Adir finished by placing his custom-made golden quills into the updo for a halo effect.
