Allison Williams’ Silky Waves + Soft Half-Up ‘Do

close formula

Who knows Hollywood trends better than the leading ladies themselves and their trusted stylists? No one, which is precisely why award show season is one of the greatest seasons to draw inspiration from. Allison Williams sported this soft and wavy half-up ‘do at the 2016 Critics Choice Awards and her stylist, Rebekah Forecast (who also styles Miranda Kerr, Amber Heard and Adriana Lima on the reg), gave us the how-to. Check it out!

“Allison’s Balmain gown is colorful and graphic and has a bit of a ’70s vibe, so our inspiration was to keep the hair chic but simple as to not overpower that boldness,” shares Rebekah. “We wanted to keep the front texture chic without being overly glamorous, and the back cascading in soft, silky waves in a beautiful, soft half-up, half-down look.”

HOW-TO STEPS

1

Shampoo with Fekkai Full Blown Volume Shampoo. Then apply a quarter-sized amount of Fekkai Full Blown Volume Lightweight Styling Whip with a comb, concentrating at the root for ultimate volume.

2

Apply Fekkai Spray Blowout Primer throughout the midlengths and ends for heat protection and a frizz-free foundation for blow-drying.

3

Palm a drop of Fekkai Blowout Sealing Serum throughout to protect hair against humidity. Next, blow out hair in sections with a ceramic round brush, utilizing a smaller barrel at the root for maximum lift. Pin the top section of hair to set.

4

Once completely dry, apply a dime-sized amount of Fekkai Brilliant Glossing Crème all over for smoothness and a boost of lustrous shine.

5

Section the top of the hair at the middle of each eyebrow, and twist back to crown and pin with bobby pins. Then, take one section on each side over the ear, and twist back to meet the middle section, overlapping to hide the pins.

6

In the back of the hair left down, touch up pieces with a 2-inch curling iron at the midshaft to give hair natural, glossy movement. Finish by spraying Fekkai Sheer Hold Hairspray all over for hold.
