When stylist Caroline Guiney @caroline.anythingbutbasic of Butterfly Loft Salon was faced with the difficult decision of which color creation to enter into the Guy Tang Hair Battle, she knew she had two choices. Go with a stunning, Level 10 ice blonde, or take it one step further and submit this beautiful blend of watercolor metallics, inspired by her daughter’s watercolor art.

Caroline ended up choosing the latter, and today, she couldn’t be happier. “I wanted to do something out of the ordinary for the Guy Tang Hair Battle, and I knew I was taking a risk, but hey, it’s art and I couldn’t help myself,” shares Caroline. “So I went for it and have had an overwhelmingly positive response.”

Here’s Caroline’s how-to for her metallic watercolor melt.
