How about this sexy silver bob Instagram is totally crushin’ on!? Mika Rogerson (@Mikaatbhc) owner and stylist at The Boulevard Hair Company in Greenville, N.C., pulled out all her tricks for her client’s new, sexy cut and our BTC community was all over it—giving it more than 11,000 likes on Instagram! This silvery blonde bob may have taken her client three visits to the salon, but the color and cut couldn’t be more perfect for the winter season. Here’s how she did it.

Mika prices a full set of highlights, toner and cut between $150 and $215, depending on the length and density of the hair. Normally, she would charge this every time her client comes into the salon, but this silver bob is worn by one of her besties, so Mika gave her the hookup and discounted her rates!

FORMULA STEPS

1. In the first appointment, Mika cut off about six inches and added texture to give her client’s hair more movement. For the color, she applied Formula A and Formula B in a traditional slicing and weaving manner.

2. On the second visit, Mika gave her client a more dimensional blonde, using Formula A and Formula C. Since she cut through the warmer tones on her first visit, no toner was necessary this time around.

3. The third visit was all about going more current and trendy. For the final silvery look, Mika applied foils with Formula A and Formula B using a heavy slicing and weaving technique.

Pro Tip: Follow the shape of your client’s hair and use the partline to dictate the amount of foils used.

4. Tone the hair using Formula D, and then Formula E for three minutes.

5. To finish the style, use a 1-inch curling iron in 1 1/2-inch sections, using Kenra Dry Texture spray to keep volume and grip.
