FORMULA STEPS

1. Apply Formula A to prelighten the regrowth area, process until desired lift is achieved and rinse. For warmer-toned melts, Megan prefers starting with a warmer canvas.

2. Then, pre-tone by applying Formula B all over. “If the canvas is too light or faded out with cooler tones, I will tone the hair with a warm filler before I apply the color melt,” shares Megan. “This enhances the warm shades and gives the colors a longer and true-to-tone fading process.”

3. Process for 20 minutes, then rinse and wash with Matrix Total Results Re-Bond Shampoo to cleanse the hair of unwanted product build-up.

Pro Tip: Megan recommends using The Re-Bond 3-Step Strength Rehab System from Matrix Total Results during lightening services to maintain integrity and prevent damage.

4. Blow-dry the hair, then apply Formula C from the roots to mids.

5. For the ends, alternate applying Formula D and Formula E for a dimensional effect. Melting a darker root into Clear will slightly lighten the darker color to create a seamless ombré.

Color Melting Tip: Try applying your ends first! “Start by applying the lighter shade to the ends,” shares Megan. “Then apply the darker shade at the root and melt the lighter color up into the darker root area.” Why? This will protect the ends from unwanted bleeding.

6. Process for 30 minutes, then rinse. Apply Total Results Re-Bond Pre-Conditioner thoroughly to wet hair and process for 5 minutes. Don’t rinse. Then, layer Total Results Re-Bond Conditioner over the hair to seal in moisture and rinse.

7. Blow-dry and style as desired.

Wavy or straight?! This dimensional pumpkin will POP however your client styles it.
