Creative color made its way down the Marc Jacobs Runway during NYFW FW18. Here’s an inside peek at how the look came together and the formula for this cool Marc Jacobs Red from Redken Global Color Creative Director Josh Wood.

“The colors were very ’80s and ’90s-inspired. We wanted the girls to look like they were lit in a nightclub, so there were a lot of neon and strobe lighting in our references. These looks are all about skill, precision and placement. Knowing exactly where to place color to emphasize those haircuts is key for these looks. We worked very closely with Marc on the textures and colors of the fabrics to make sure this all came together. We wanted to see a reflection of the haircolor in the fabric and vice-versa. We’ve created a character for each girl. No two colors are the same. They’re all bold, big and individual statements,” said Josh.

Styling by Guido Palau:

1. Prep with Redken Color Extend Bonder Kit to preserve color and strengthen hair, then towel-dry.

2. Apply a quarter-sized amount of Redken Satinwear 04 to protect hair from heat and to add a glossy shine.

4. To finish, apply a few spritzes of Redken Shine Flash 02 for added polish.
