While balayage may definitely be the trend today, there are clients who remain loyal to the foil. Here’s a technique from BTC bestie @prettylittleombre, aka Jamie Sea, to give your client that foiled blonde she wants, plus a little root smudge.

“It’s very important to know when to use certain techniques,” Jamie says. “My guest wanted to be much brighter, so the route I took was traditional foils and a root smudge. This helped create overall brightness with a gradient color effect as a result of the smudge.”
