Brandy Lee Jefferson

We can’t get enough of the “money piece” trend—those gorgeous, blonde ribbons of light that frame and highlight the face. When Washington-based stylist Brandy Lee Jefferson (@brandyannlee) painted this caramel balayage, she took her money piece game to the next level with this rich, dimensional haircolor! Get all the color formulas and steps below and start painting!

Get The Steps

  1. Create babylights around the hairline by applying Formula A.

  2. Then, apply Formula B and balayage the hair. Process for 45 minutes, then rinse.

  3. Apply Formula C to the roots—leaving out the money piece—and comb it down.

  4. Then, apply Formula D from the midshaft to ends, leaving out the money piece.

  5. Apply Formula E to the money piece only. Process for 10-15 minutes. Then, rinse.

  6. Apply Wella Professionals Service Color Post Treatment and process for 5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.
