They colored strong, they styled strong, they cut strong, they created strong.  The entrants in the 2011 Goldwell North American Color Zoom took the “Play Strong” collection inspiration to heart and the result was a dazzling array of submissions, up more than 50% from the previous year. 

This week, a panel of judges—including Emmy-Nominated Celebrity Stylist Rachael Dowling; A-List New York Star and Celebrity Stylist Ryan Nickulas; President of Carlton Hair International James O’Reagan; Goldwell North American Guest Artists John Simpson and Timothy Switzer and BTC contributing editor Jackie Summers—convened at Goldwell H.Q. in Baltimore to review the work and select the semi-finalists in each of the three categories.  Inspired by the Goldwell Play Strong collection, which features a subtle interplay of contrasts expressed by disconnection and a dynamic black, white and red palette, the work was, well, strong! 

Now the votes have been counted and the semi-finalists have been named.  Next?  The submissions of the five semi-finalists in each of three categories are on their way to Germany to be judged by a Global Panel. This independent group of industry experts and international stylists will select one winner for each category to represent the United States at the 2011 Color Zoom Finale Live Competition in South Beach, Miami on October 16, 2011.
