Vivienne Mackinder “Airs and Graces”

Today’s modern woman is soft, yet bold.  She is romantic, but in-charge and independent.  Vivienne Mackinder’s collection “Airs and Graces” represents the duality living inside women of today’s society.

The “Gracious Woman,” one part of this duality, is the dreamer and the romantic, as seen in “Woven Dreams,” “Twists and Romance,” “Grace and Air,” “Tumbled Romance” and “Innocent Edge.”  To create these looks, Vivienne uses different techniques and plays with different textures, like loose shredding and twisting and weaving, to achieve the soft, wistful look of a woman who is filled with romantic dreams and nostalgic moments.

The “Powerhouse Woman” is the opposing force to the “Gracious Woman,” and is captured in the hairstyles “Air and Grace,” “Crimp Mystery,” “Crimp Swirl” and “Rock and Romance.”  This woman is active, passionate and she lives her life to the fullest.  Vivienne texturizes these hairstyles with root tonging, mini crimping and by creating waves.

When creating “Airs and Graces,” Vivienne was inspired by successful women who love life and who have discovered and shared the strengths and talents that are uniquely their own and by women who have found the joy of living and peace within themselves.
