Every one of us craves the feeling of being a part of something bigger than ourselves. By nature, we are tribal. We learn that culture is necessary for survival, and all of us are born into a “tribal mentality” of various forms. These photos are meant to ignite tribal instincts in stylists—a common ground established with honor and respect. They’re also about Simplexity—a complementary relationship between simplicity and complexity. Details add interest, luxury and multiple identities. Textured surfaces, accessories and plaits add a sense of movement—a tilting back. A return to the ’90s with its bold patterns—simple, yet complex, structured yet carefree.
