The winners of the North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) were announced during a gala cermony held on Sunday, July 24, 2005 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

*   Hairstylist of the Year- Marjorie Clarke (The Hair Force Salon/Spa, Mount Pearl, NF)

*   Master Stylist of the Year- Vivienne Mackinder (New York, NY)- See her full Surreal Collection now!

*   Avant Garde- Eric Fisher (Eric FisherSalon, Wichita KS)

*   Contemporary Classic- Zak Mascolo (TIGI Academy, New York, NY)

*   Haircolor- Susan Hayward (Taz Hair Co., Toronto, ON)

*   Long Hair Dressing- Marjorie Clarke (The Hair Force Salon/Spa, Mount Pearl, NF)

*   Makeover- Jon Paul Holt (Avantgarde Hair, Vancouver, BC)

*   Texture- Frank Dicintio (Salon Gaboam Woodbridge, ON)

*   Make-up Artist of the Year- Melodie Reynolds (Enviro Trends, St. Thomas, ON)

*   Salon Team of the Year- Salon Verve (Maple, ON)

*   Editorial Stylist of the Year- Matthew Morris (Denver, CO)

*   Student Hairstylist of the Year- Kozeta Izeti (Taz Hair Co., Toronto, ON)

In addition to awarding the 12 categories, NAHA, which is presented by the Professional Beauty Association, also honored the recipients of the Lifetime Achievement and Hall of Leaders awards.  Named to the Hall of Leaders for 1005 is entrepreneur and renaissance man, Bruno Mascolo, founder, presdietn and CEO of Toni&Guy/TIGI Linea USA, Inc.  Winning the esteemed Lifetime Achievement Award is Sam Brocato, president and artistic director of Brocato America.

Rachel Dratch of “Saturday Night Live” emceed the event and Anna Pacitto-Merlo, the NAHA Hairstylist of the Year 2004, presented a fabulous fashion runway show illustrating three NAHA categories: Contemporary Classic, Avant Garde and Texture.  The NAHA post-party, spondored by TIGI, was held in the House of Blues’ Foundation Room at the top of the Mandalay Bay.
