Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Takes NYC by Storm
While nasty snow storms kept us Chicagoans hunkered down in our homes for the week, another type of storm was hitting New York City, and it came in the form of fabulous clothes and perfectly-styled coifs. It was Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, and this year some of our favorite manufacturers and stylists were on hand to get the models ready for the catwalk.
Danilo worked it at the Baby Phat show with Linea Pro styling tools, including the limited-edition Swarovski-encrusted iron.
Odile Gilbert MUST have developed carpel tunnel over the week! We should give the world-renowned hairstylist an award for working so many shows. She headed the L’Oréal Professionnel team at Zac Posen and Catherine Malandrino then joined the Aveda team for Phillip Lim and Rodarte.
Laurent D of Privé was ‘doin-it-up backstage for the Ports 1961 show while NIOXIN’S Donna Maggi and Shear Genius’ Theodore Leaf teamed up to style looks for the Christian Cota show.
Don’t forget about FHI Heat! Hairstylist Edris Nicholls and team used the styling tools to create the looks that came down the Tracy Reese runway.
Redken artists styled away for shows like Betsey Johnson, Carmen Marc Valvo and Chris Benz while ghd artists were heatin’ up the backstages of Monique Lhuillier, Proenza Schouler and Erin Fetherston.
Finally, Fashion Week fixture Eugene Souleiman joined the ghd creative team at those shows, as well as getting “green” with the Aveda team for Thakoon.
Since we couldn’t leave our homes and make it to the shows in-person, our manufacturer friends made sure we were among the first to receive some of their favorite shots from the week-long extravaganza.
Let’s all live vicariously through these photographs and grant ourselves V.I.P access to see what happened behind the scenes at the most fashionable event in the Big Apple.
