As Spring 2008 approaches, we can expect our more somber fashion palette to brighten with the promise of brighter days with bolder strokes of color and fluttery pastels, wrapped in a more ladylike silhouette.

“As hair is essentially the ultimate accessory, why wouldn’t the hair echo this spring couture sentiment,” says Paul Mitchell Editorial Director Lucie Doughty, who along with PAC Artists Maureen McCarthy and Noogie Thai, created a collection of looks which simulated ladylike hats in bold rainbow brights and floral pastels set against a boudoir to reflect all angles of each look.

“The shoot concept was inspired by first interpreting hair as different pieces of fabric, then assembling the pieces to give the illusion that the model is wearing an accessory, such as a hat,” says Doughty.  “The different colors and textures of the hair pieces mimicked fabrics that together would form ladylike chapeaus indicative of the strong polished undertone of the Spring 2008 season.”
