JPMS recently held a photo shoot competition, with the winner receiving a trip to LA to work with Paul Mitchell Editorial Director/NAHA finalist Lucie Doughty.  The winner, Bridgette McLeod, saw her contest entry brought to life with the help of Doughty, a top editorial photographer, makeup artist, wardrobe stylist and models. Out of this collaborative work, the JPMS Fall/Winter editorial collection “Guided by Gatsby” was born.

These looks evoke a carefree, flirtatious glamour indicative of the “Lost Generation” of the 1920s.  The models in this collection look as though they’re about to head to Jay Gatsby’s West Egg Mansion for a lavish soirée, but they maintain a modern glitz that could just as easily put them on a red carpet at this year’s Oscars.

The different textures and symmetry in the hair mirror the model’s clothing, and hair accessories were used to add unexpected shapes and movement.
