Jamie Carroll heads one of the fastest growing businesses in the Sutherland Shire, Jamie Carroll Hair & Beauty, and has become a leading figure in the Australian hairdressing industry. He is steadily making in-roads on to the international scene through his entrepreneurial approach to hairdressing education, training and marketing initiatives.

Recently a finalist for Avant Guard Hairdresser of the Year and nominated for Global Entrepreneur for the Beauty Industry for 2004, Jamie draws from a background in photography and film and experience in the music industry (working with people such as Crowded House, Roxette, Duran Duran to name but a few).  Additional inspiration comes from fashion events such as Australia’s designer collection, working with young designers such as Bowie for Schwartzkopf, and experience from Couture house Balmain in Paris.
 
The true inspiration for his Avant Garde Collection was shape, form, gravity and beauty. Motivated by fashion from the 50’s and film and television shows such as Breakfast At Tiffany’s and Some Like It Hot and in more recent times, The Matrix, Lord Of The Rings and Farscape (special effects).  Then drawing on 20 years of his own personal experience, he threw it out the window and worked outside the square of predictability to come up with a truly inspirational design.
