Chicago was a dazzling sight when the Chicago Midwest Beauty Show® (CMBS), America’s Beauty Show® brought the world of hair and beauty to America’s heartland. Held at the convention center in Rosemont, Illinois, this inspirational event drew record attendance, highlighted styles from around the world and celebrated educators of global influence.

Jamie Carroll was invited by the organizers of CMBS to present a hands-on long hair workshop, an interactive business seminar and also to showcase his amazing stage work at the CMBStyle show. Carroll was one of eleven specially invited amazing salon industry artists and teams taking part in this celebration among beauty professionals.

Renowned for his creative and trendsetting hairdressing skills, Carroll wowed the audience during his “Contemporary Classic” long hair hands-on workshop, which focused on how to create wearable, high fashion up-do’s. He utilized new techniques and a simple, methodical, step-by-step approach to working with long hair. Carroll focused on quick, fashion-oriented styles that could be used in the salon every day.

The inspiration behind the CMBStyle show was to raise money for the NCA Disaster Relief Fund/ Hurricane Katrina, helping to rebuild the lives of industry professionals in the Gulf Region of the USA.

“This was the first time the organizers of the Chicago Midwest Beauty Show® have attempted this type of show on their own, and based on the feedback from the audience, this was the show to see,” Carroll said.

“It showed our profession at the top of its game. In addition, we raised over $25,000 for the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts to help the stylists of New Orleans and the surrounding area get back on their feet. What a beautiful way to support our fellow professionals,” Carroll said.
