By Night combines “the hedonist glamour of Helmut Newton with the architectural rigueur of Pierre Balmain.”- Balmain designer Christopher LeBourg

In early March, an eclectic group of “art” lovers descended upon the Louvre Museum in Paris.  Roman Polanski, Grace Jones, and the Prince of Kuwait were just a few famous faces spotted among the glitterati attending the House of Balmain’s Prêt-a-Porte Show for Fall/Winter 2004.

In early March, a unique group of “art” lovers descended upon the Louvre Museum in Paris.  Roman Polanski, Grace Jones, and the Prince of Kuwait were just a few famous faces spotted among the glitterati attending the House of Balmain’s Prêt a Porte show for Fall/Winter 2004.

Models, hair pulled back to emphasize smoky eyes and red, red lips unveiled looks in predominantly black, coppery brown and gray with splashes of red and gold.  Though heralding the comeback of the classic fitted 1954 Balmain suit, in true eclectic style the collection ran the gamut from mannish to seductive –pinstripe suit to strapless gown.

Check out what you missed…. including a glimpse backstage.
