Électrique from Mary Alamine

Traditionally, long hair has been the inspiration behind Mary Alamine’s creative expression—she typically uses braids and upstyles to communicate trends and wearability. Électrique experiments with a shorter style, enhancing the textural integrity of the hair in various forms to produce an eclectic interpretation of style based on the one cut.

“I wanted to play around with different textures so I created a dry to wet look, almost like she decided to jump in a pool after her night out,” says Mary.

As for the color, the distinctive chromatic hue of grayish blue is bold in its presentation, encouraging different tonal reflections depending on the use of light, shadow and texture within each individual image. A darker blue at the roots fades through to the mid lengths and ends to create a subtle contrast similar to distressed denim.
